This was another in the list of thrillers this year that were just okay for me. It was a good read and I’d recommend it to thriller lovers. It just wasn’t anything that totally blew my mind or will be particularly memorable as time goes on. I will definitely read from this author again.
What the River Knows by Isabel Ibañez
I feel like this story had so much potential that it just didn’t quite live up to for me. I went into this book thinking it could definitely be a five star read for me, but sadly I’m settling with three.
Rouge by Mona Awad
Wow! What a weird, wild, twisted ride this was. This is one of those books that you read and then need time to process afterwards to figure out what the hell you just read.
Bright Young Women by Jessica Knoll
Overall, I thought it was a good read, and an important one. It’s a solid three star experience for me. I’d definitely recommend it to thriller readers who want a fresh take on such harrowing true events.
How to Find a Missing Girl by Victoria Wlosok
I don’t think I’m exactly the intended audience for this, so while my personal reading experience was a three-star, I can easily see it being four or five stars for others. It hit all the marks and expectations for this genre.
Magnolia Parks (Magnolia Parks Universe #1) by Jessa Hastings
Y’all… I really don’t get the hype for this one. I hated the two main characters so much. I ended up DNFing because I just didn’t care and couldn’t do it anymore.
The Intern by Michele Campbell
I really enjoyed this! Much more than I expected to. I’ve never really read a legal thriller like this one. I was completely invested in the characters and the plot.
My Darling Girl by Jennifer McMahon
I absolutely devoured this book! Definitely a five-star experience for me. Highly recommend this book to all mystery, thriller, and horror lovers. It is a must read!
People to Follow by Olivia Worley
I’m loving that young adult novels are trending and growing into the new generation. The influencer culture is such a perfect theme for today’s teen readers. Overall, I think this is a great debut and I’d be interested to see what this author writes next!
The Invisible Hour by Alice Hoffman
The writing is lyrical, flowy, immersive, and poignant. The story is powerful, magical, and emotional. The romance is so cute and swoon-worthy.
Starling House by Alix E. Harrow
Everything you want and expect from this author is delivered! The perfect gothic, fantastical, whimsical, horror novel with lyrical writing and depth of emotion. I just love her way of writing so much. It’s so captivating and really brings the story to life.
This Dark Descent (This Dark Descent #1) by Kalyn Josephson
I highly recommend this book to all fantasy readers. I can easily see it becoming the next phenomenon in this genre and I can’t wait to continue the series. And, y’all, this cover is freaking stunning! I will definitely be getting a physical copy of this book when it comes out!
