It wasn’t the most epic, memorable romantasy, but I still liked it. If you’re a lover of the genre, don’t expect anything new or fresh. If you’re looking to get into the genre, I think this is a great one to start with.
Compass and Blade by Rachel Greenshaw
This is a solid YA fantasy debut, for readers who love a sea-faring adventure. This one is a fun, fast, exciting read that will definitely find its audience who love it. From the writing alone, I would definitely be interested to read more from this author.
ARC Review: Last One to Die by Cynthia Murphy – YA Mystery/Thriller
I have mixed feelings about this one. There are things that I really loved and some that didn’t work so well for me. Overall, it’s a solid three-star for me.
A Reckless Oath (Heartless Fates #2) by Kaylie Smith
Y’all… I am obsessed with this series!!! It is so freaking fantastic. I devoured both this book and the first one and I still can’t get enough of this world and these characters.
Somewhere in the Deep by Tanvi Berwah
If you are looking for something that is light and predictably entertaining, this is a good choice. I enjoyed the story and do recommend it to lovers of this genre if you’re looking for an easy read that is fun and satisfying, even if not necessarily mind-blowingly memorable.
This Cursed Light (The Last Finestra #2) by Emily Thiede
Highly recommend this series, it is so freaking good! Everything about it is so immersive and I enjoyed every moment of my time in this story world. You have to read this! It deserves all the hype.
Beasts of Prey (Beasts of Prey #1) by Ayana Gray – YA Fantasy
It’s a fun, quick, easy read that I think most YA fantasy readers would enjoy. It’s a very solid YA fantasy book and the writing style is perfect for someone who wants something that isn’t too dense.
Last Girl Breathing by Court Stevens
I love the small-town, rural vibes and atmosphere. It makes for a great backdrop in thrillers. There are many players in this story and nearly everyone has experienced grief and tragedy of some kind.
How to Find a Missing Girl by Victoria Wlosok
I don’t think I’m exactly the intended audience for this, so while my personal reading experience was a three-star, I can easily see it being four or five stars for others. It hit all the marks and expectations for this genre.
People to Follow by Olivia Worley
I’m loving that young adult novels are trending and growing into the new generation. The influencer culture is such a perfect theme for today’s teen readers. Overall, I think this is a great debut and I’d be interested to see what this author writes next!
This Dark Descent (This Dark Descent #1) by Kalyn Josephson
I highly recommend this book to all fantasy readers. I can easily see it becoming the next phenomenon in this genre and I can’t wait to continue the series. And, y’all, this cover is freaking stunning! I will definitely be getting a physical copy of this book when it comes out!
