This month’s book selections are here!
Book of the Month is one of my favorite subscription boxes for readers and book lovers. I get so excited seeing that blue box at my door! This is one subscription I’m hooked on and they also have a great rewards program too.
Every month they curate a selection of books for you to choose from. They are hardbacks, highly-anticipated new releases, from a range of genres. You can choose one or more from that month’s selections and from previous months, or skip that month and save your credit for later.
Not only do you get the books for way cheaper than what they typically retail for (y’all, books are getting for real expensive these days), but you also get free shipping every order too!
If you aren’t a member yet or want to learn all about how it works and if it’s worth it, here’s everything you need to know about BOTM!
We have five books to choose from this month, plus one new add-on. There are so many good ones that I’m seriously wishing I could get more than just three!
For new members, you can get your first book for only $5 using using my affiliate link.
Here are February’s selections and which ones I’m planning on getting:
Someone Else’s Shoes by Jojo Moyes
Genre: Contemporary Fiction
Pages: 448
Expected Publication: Feb. 7th
Approximate Retail Price: $23
This is an author that BOTM has featured many times. I heard a lot of feedback that people were super excited to read this one and so many people made this their pick for the month. I personally haven’t read anything from this author before, but I am considering checking something out from the library to see what her writing is like.
River Sing Me Home by Eleanor Shearer
Genre: Historical Fiction
Pages: 336
Published: Jan. 31st
Approximate Retail Price: $24
This is one of my picks and I am so hyped for this book! Not my typical genre but I have been hearing such amazing things about this book from so many people. I can’t wait to read it! I also love this cover, it is such a vibe and I have a feeling it will be very symbolic for such an emotional story.
Georgie, All Along by Kate Clayborn
Genre: Romance
Pages: 352
Published: Jan. 24th
Approximate Retail Price: Paperback $15
This is an exclusive hardcover format. For the time being, it is only available elsewhere in paperback. This is one I definitely considered getting. But I decided that I will just add it to my tbr instead, and my library just recently got a copy of this so I put a hold on it from there. It sounds super cute and I’ll be reading it for my single pringle Valentine’s date with myself.
The Writing Retreat by Julia Bartz
Genre: Thriller
Pages: 320
Expected Publication: Feb. 21st
Approximate Retail Price: $24
My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is a super early release just for us! I actually got to read an early digital ARC copy of this book. You can read my full review of this book here. It is definitely a weird one but I think thriller lovers will enjoy it.
Maame by Jessica George
Genre: Contemporary Fiction
Pages: 320
Published: Jan. 31st
Approximate Retail Price: $21
Another book I am super hyped for! This is one of my additional picks for the month. I have heard nothing but great things about this book. This cover is just stunning, I love the bright colors and abstract flowers. When I read the synopsis that it was about a women who felt like a late-bloomer and trying to find her place in life, I knew I had to read it because, girl… same.
New Add-On This Month:
The Last Tale of the Flower Bride by Roshani Chokshi
Genre: Fantasy
Pages: 304
Expected Publication: Feb. 14th
Approximate Retail Price: $25
I have been looking forward to this book for freaking months! When I saw that this author was writing something new and it was going to be adult… sign me up immediately. This is going to be my third and final pick for this month. So excited to read this!
What are my real thoughts about this month’s selections?
I am actually super pleased with this month!
I can honestly say that all five, and the new add-on, are something that I would get if I could get them all. I really had a hard time choosing and narrowing it down to three, and that’s a first for me so far with this subscription.
I’m really happy that we stuck with the themes for this month.
We got two cute books for Valentine’s day and two great picks to celebrate Black History Month (both of which I am getting).
Plus, these two are also popular book club selections for this month as well, so I am looking forward to watching any extra interviews with the authors later this month.
This is the first month that I am actually getting the max of all three books and I am just so freaking excited! I had an extra credit from skipping a previous month.
Plus, now that I have gotten three boxes sent to me, I’m officially a BOTM “friend” withing their rewards program so my add-ons are even cheaper!
If you have been on the fence about signing up, this is absolutely the perfect month to go for it!
Sign up for BOTM and get your first book for only $5!
