I was hooked from the very beginning into this action-packed tale. It’s a story full of mystery and wonder, with darkness lurking in every corner. Reading this book is a tangible experience. I highly recommend this book and it definitely deserves all five stars.
ARC Review: The Resort by Sarah Goodwin
I had mixed feelings after reading this. On the one hand, I loved the horror movie way that the plot begins to unfold. But the second half is where things started to fall off for me.
ARC Review: The Villa by Rachel Hawkins
When I say I devoured this book, I mean I read this like I was starving for it. This is a story about loss, betrayal, family, friendship, and twisted, toxic love. It’s a book you will want to read again and again.
ARC Review: A Ruinous Fate (Heartless Fates #1) by Kaylie Smith
This book is one fast-paced, exciting adventure and I loved every minute of it! I read this book in nearly one sitting. I just couldn’t stop, it was so freaking good. I can’t even believe this is a debut!
ARC Review: Queen of Myth and Monsters (Adrian X Isolde #2) by Scarlett St. Clair
This is such a great sequel! The stakes are even higher in the plot and it sets us up really well for the third book. I highly recommend this series to anyone who loves paranormal fantasy with equal parts epic kingdoms and spice.
ARC Review: The Poison Season by Mara Rutherford
The island of Endla is host to the last remaining wandering forest, and surrounded by a deadly poisonous lake that protects it from outsiders. Leelo has grown up here on the island of Endla. As she is taking her rightful place within the community, she begins to question the way of things. This feel-good story, endearing characters, creepy setting, and tumultuous sequence of events is sure to enthrall readers.
ARC Review: Curse of Shadows (Amassia #2) by A.K. Wilder
When I saw the ARC of this book available on Netgalley… I’ve never sent a request so fast. This book is one of my most anticipated releases for this year and, oh man, it was everything I could have hoped for. This story just gets better and better – an epic second book and you don’t want to miss it. I can’t believe it’s not more popular!
ARC Review: Hooked (Never After #1) by Emily McIntire
Despite everything, despite all the things, I still found myself inexplicably turning the pages. We’ll call this one a guilty pleasure because I just couldn’t help reading it. I have a love-hate relationship with this book. Maybe I love hating on it, or maybe I hate that I love it. Probably some of both. I’m glad I read it. I can see why all the hype has built around this book.
ARC Review: Saint by Adrienne Young (The World of the Narrows #0)
Get ready to fall even more in love with Saint! This is everything we could have hoped for and everything we expected is delivered. This story is perfect.
ARC Review: The Personal Assistant by Kimberly Belle
I definitely recommend this book to readers of the mystery/thriller genre. I think this will be a popular and well-received release, with its timely and relevant themes and fresh takes within this genre. It’s a solid four stars. I enjoyed my reading experience and I was invested in the outcome. This is an author I would definitely love to read more from.
ARC Review: The Stars Undying by Emery Robin
The author has a brilliant mind for creating intricate multifaceted story worlds with dramatic plots. The sheer scope of this story is impressive and I wanted so badly to be immersed in it. I can see all of this objectively, but I’m afraid the story just wasn’t for me. For readers who do manage to stick it out and grasp the story, I think that science-fiction lovers will enjoy it. It is accurately referred to as a space opera, and that’s the exact feel that I had while reading it. Even though my own experience with it wasn’t exactly raving, I still think it is a commendable debut and I’d be interested to see what this author has in store for us all next.
ARC Review: Children of Ragnarök (The Runestone Saga #1) by Cinda Williams Chima
For me, it was just ok, I found myself wanting to get into it and trying to care more than I actually did. Regardless of my less than glowing own personal experience with this story, I do think that the right audience will like it. If you like books with dense lore, complex mythology, slow-build plot, historical vibes, and more adult high-fantasy in nature, then this might be the perfect one for you.
