I have such mixed feelings about this one. I waited to write this review to digest this story more, but I’m still unsure how I feel about it. It was a good three-star, quirky, murder-mystery.
Compass and Blade by Rachel Greenshaw
This is a solid YA fantasy debut, for readers who love a sea-faring adventure. This one is a fun, fast, exciting read that will definitely find its audience who love it. From the writing alone, I would definitely be interested to read more from this author.
Faebound (Faebound #1) by Saara El-Arifi
It’s one of my most anticipated books for the year and I went into it fully believing that it could be a five-star for me, but sadly it wasn’t. The saying that it fell flat, was exactly how I felt about this one.
ARC Review: Kill for Me, Kill for You by Steve Cavanagh – Mystery/Thriller
One of my favorite books of the year! Wow, wow, wow! I am still thinking about this book. I loved this book so much that I annotated it.
ARC Review: Listen for the Lie by Amy Tintera – Mystery/Thriller
Wow, what a fierce and compelling experience! Highly recommend this very impressive, adult thriller debut. I hope she writes more in the future. If so, I will definitely be reading them!
ARC Review: Last One to Die by Cynthia Murphy – YA Mystery/Thriller
I have mixed feelings about this one. There are things that I really loved and some that didn’t work so well for me. Overall, it’s a solid three-star for me.
ARC Review: You’ll Never Know I’m Here by Kiersten Modglin – Mystery/Thriller
She never fails to write the most addicting thrillers. I loved this one especially because of the themes around book influencers. I’ll read everything she writes!
The New Couple in 5B by Lisa Unger
This was so captivating. I was completely absorbed into this story from start to finish. I absolutely loved it and highly recommend it. It was such an exciting and engaging read.
ARC Review: The Inmate by Freida McFadden – Mystery/Thriller
Another fast-paced, twisty, addicting, popcorn thriller from McFadden! Overall, this was everything I’d expect from this author – a binge-worthy, compulsive read with building suspense and a twisty ending.
ARC Review: The Teacher by Freida McFadden – Mystery/Thriller
The reigning queen of popcorn thrillers does it again! Although I didn’t enjoy this one as much as some of her other books, it was still a solid three-star read for me.
ARC Review: The Djinn Waits a Hundred Years – Historical/Horror/Fantasy
This was a mess. It was like the book itself didn’t know what it wanted to be or say – a buffet of genres with no central motivation. It just left me confused, wanting, wondering what I just read and why.
ARC Review: Where You End by Abbott Kahler – Mystery/Thriller
I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a dark, character-driven thriller. If you’ve enjoyed books from Mona Awad, Rachel Harrison, or Ashley Winstead, I think you’ll also really like this one.
