I love a good fairytale fantasy like this one, especially with darker undertones. It definitely has more of a Grimm-style feeling, rather than a Disney version, and I love the sinister truths lurking behind every scene.
ARC Review: Wizard’s Masquerade by Jay Pellegrin
I have some mixed feelings about this story. While there were many things that I absolutely loved, there are also some areas where I was a little less than thrilled.

ARC Review: In the Shadow Garden by Liz Parker
This is an insane debut that reads like it’s from a seasoned author.
It’s an expertly crafted experience you are sure to savor. I was sucked into the drama and the intrigue, flat-out hooked, and I couldn’t get enough.
ARC Review: Signal to Noise by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
This one fell flat for me. The characters are flat, the setting is flat. It just felt very underwhelming and as a whole underdeveloped. I didn’t find much that felt relatable with the characters. I didn’t experience the depth that I felt this story had the potential for.

Mini Book Review: Book of Night by Holly Black
I can’t lie, this is probably one of my most disappointing releases for this year. While it wasn’t terrible, it wasn’t great either. It had all the potential for greatness but I feel like it just missed the mark.
ARC Review: The Liar’s Crown by Abigail Owen
I have mixed feelings about this one. While there are certain aspects that I absolutely loved, there are also things that fell short for me. I think it is a solid 3-star experience and many readers are going to fall on either side of that.
ARC Review: The Drowned Woods by Emily Lloyd-Jones
I absolutely loved every minute of this! It is a fun, easy read that I couldn’t put down – a perfectly well-executed YA fantasy that any lover of this genre will enjoy reading. I am officially joining the guild of Emily Lloyd-Jones fans who will auto-purchase all the books.
ARC Review: The Dragon’s Promise by Elizabeth Lim
I didn’t love this one as much as the first book. In general, it just lacked the spark and magic of the first book that captivated me so well.
ARC Review: Belladonna by Adalyn Grace
This story is my newest obsession – the gothic vibes, the snark and charm of the characters, and the swoon-worthy relationships. It’s a tale of murder-mystery and coming-of-age, in a historical setting.
ARC Review: When Stars Come Out by Scarlett St. Clair
There is an element of creeping tension, dark undertones, and a permeating sense of foreboding that hooked me in from the start. This story is expertly-crafted intrigue and slowly-thickening tension, all bound into a plot full of truly unexpected twists and turns. It’s a masterful piece of building layers that makes this story so amazing. I genuinely couldn’t put this book down and I cannot wait to read the next book in this series.
