One of the most-anticipated releases of the year from a best-selling author, I can’t wait to get my hands on this one. This is the start of a new duology, set in 1930s Shanghai about a pair of spies investigating a series of murders.
Hester by Laurie Lico Albanese

This is a reimagined story about the girl who inspired The Scarlett Letter. A young immigrant woman sails to the New World in search of freedom, but instead finds a society whose women are suffering from the witchcraft trials. It is said to be thematically evocative and intricately researched.
