I have mixed feelings about this one. I somehow just never felt completely immersed, totally invested, nor deeply connected with the story.
ARC Review: The Tainted Cup (Shadows of the Leviathan #1) by Robert Jackson Bennett – Fantasy
This is going to be a favorite book of the year (easiest five-star thus far) and quite possibly of all time. Everything was perfection for me.
ARC Review: Home Is Where the Bodies Are by Jeneva Rose – Mystery/Thriller
Highly recommend! If you like a thriller that has family drama, possibly unhinged characters, terrible secrets, and a splash of romantic tension, this is the one for you.
Queens of Themiscyra (The Grecian Women Trilogy #3) by Hannah Lynn
I highly recommend to any readers that love mythology and retellings! I will definitely be looking forward to reading more from this author in the future.
ARC Review: Darling Girls by Sally Hepworth – Mystery/Thriller
This is my favorite Hepworth book to date. I can’t recommend it highly enough! Going to be a favorite thriller of the year for me.
ARC Review: Ghost Station by S.A. Barnes: Science-Fiction/Horror
I devoured this book! This is Barnes’s best yet – officially an auto-buy author for me now, I will read everything she writes. Easily going to be a favorite read of the year for me.
A Spartan’s Sorrow (The Grecian Women Trilogy #2) by Hannah Lynn
This just really wasn’t the most enjoyable Clytemnestra retelling for me personally, but I am still interested in reading this author’s other retellings with characters I’m not quite as familiar with.
The Woman with No Name by Audrey Blake
I think this is going to be one of the most popular historical fiction releases this year. The writing, characters, and plotting are phenomenal.
The Mystery Writer by Sulari Gentill
I have such mixed feelings about this one. I waited to write this review to digest this story more, but I’m still unsure how I feel about it. It was a good three-star, quirky, murder-mystery.
Faebound (Faebound #1) by Saara El-Arifi
It’s one of my most anticipated books for the year and I went into it fully believing that it could be a five-star for me, but sadly it wasn’t. The saying that it fell flat, was exactly how I felt about this one.
ARC Review: Kill for Me, Kill for You by Steve Cavanagh – Mystery/Thriller
One of my favorite books of the year! Wow, wow, wow! I am still thinking about this book. I loved this book so much that I annotated it.
ARC Review: Listen for the Lie by Amy Tintera – Mystery/Thriller
Wow, what a fierce and compelling experience! Highly recommend this very impressive, adult thriller debut. I hope she writes more in the future. If so, I will definitely be reading them!
